Community rules
Keep the water clean.
Last updated 14 September 2026
A private wish is between you and the fountain. A public wish is going to drift past strangers, some of whom are having a hard week. These are the rules for the public ones.
Not allowed
- Hate or harassment aimed at anyone or any group.
- Threats of violence, or wishing harm on a named person.
- Personal information — full names of private people, addresses, phone numbers, bank details, anything that identifies someone.
- Links, handles, promo codes and anything else that is really an advert.
- Sexual content.
- Anything illegal, or anything encouraging it.
- Spam, repetition, and keyboard mashing.
How it works
Every public wish is checked before it can appear. Clean wishes go through immediately; anything that trips a rule waits for a person to read it. Anyone can report a public wish, and a reported wish leaves the stream straight away until someone has looked.
Serious things
Some wishes are about very hard situations, and those belong here. But a fountain is not help. If you are in danger or thinking about hurting yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line — in the Netherlands, 113 Zelfmoordpreventie on 113 or 0800-0113.
Ferraris
Allowed. Obviously.
